What's Cooking at the Cucina al la Bohlen...



Oh it’s my favorite time of day!!! Sweats are on and dinner is served!!!  Cooking and eating is one of the favorite things Smalls and I do together.  Meeting in the restaurant business I guess it pushed this love along.  So this simple quick cook up is fairly healthy and very yummy to the tummy.  I would also say it looked fantastic paired on our new china with our new plum, satin placemats!!! I am such a dork but I LOVE all the gifts we got from our shower in January, that the fun of having these new items has not worn off yet.  So are you ready to have your mouth water and to become hungry again?

Ok here we go.
  So we had a yummy plate of seafood pasta.  I know that sounds boring if you have pasta once a week like we do.  But throwing seared scallops, shrimp, and asparagus, tossed in olive oil, butter, chardonnay, green onion, garlic, red pepper and Italian seasoning with whole-wheat thin spaghetti, is pretty exciting!!!  A little Old Bay seasoning on the scallops and shrimp before they get the sear scared out of them makes them perfectly scrumptious.  




















Now a nice pairing of a crisp chardonnay would have gone wonderfully but the weekend just ended 24 hours ago so… In about an hour we will make a trip to DQ to take advantage of their buy one get one 99¢ Blizzards!!! Oh another favorite of meal-time…dessert.  Hope everyone had a wonderful Monday.
